Paul Smith has worked in nature conservation for over 25 years and has been Secretary-General of Botanical Gardens Conservation International since 2016. In 2021, he co-authored the State of the World’s Trees report for the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Previously, he led Kew Garden’s Millennium Seed Bank in London, overseeing the conservation of seeds from more than 25,000 plant species.
